Courtney's lived the transatlantic life for over two decades,  collecting stories on intriguing people and places on both sides of the ocean. She has written from her adopted hometown of Cologne, Germany, about climate change, cultural and design happenings, parenting, books, travel hotspots, and whatever else catches her fancy.

Her writing's appeared in Harper's Bazaar, The Washington Post, Dwell, The Cut, The Guardian, Marie Claire, and more. A former contributing editor on Deutsche Welle's culture online website, she has regularly covered European arts and culture, from art exhibitions and books in translation to fashion.
